This tutorial was written for those that have a basic working knowledge of PSP. I have 2 versions of this tag, Animated as seen above and Non Animated at the end of the tutorial This tutorial will show you how I made a mask, colorized an image and finally how I animated the globe. You can use any scrapkit you want, if you even choose to use one, same goes for the tubes. My samples are meant only to be a guide, use your creativety :) In my tags I used: PSP X (any version should work) Animation Shop Globe free from Clker Scrapkit: One Love - a STUNNING & HUGE charity kit for Haiti, you can purchase it @ Scrap Orchard Artwork Tube: In the Animated Tag is by Suzanne Woolcott and can be purchased at her store Here Non Animated is from the One Love Scrapkit. Fonts Used: Animated Tag: Lucinda Handwriting Non Animated:Prophecy Script Supplies Included HERE A- Making the Mask Layer 1-Pick your "globe", download and open it up in PSP. It is in .png format so that is perfect to work with. I resized mine 75% ( Image, resize, 75%) 2- Next to have a mask, I put it into grey scale (adjust, hue & saturations, all the way to the left so that it is grey, ok) Open a new document 600x600 pixels, white background is what we need. Copy & Paste your new globe as a new layer. 3-Now for a mask it was too light for my taste, it will depend on the image you chose but here is how I did it to make the mask darker. Go to layers, new raster layer and fill it with black. Over on your layers palette it should say normal...scroll down and change that to overlay. If you find it is not dark enough you can duplicate this layer and sometimes change the Opacity from 100 to lower. 4-If you want your globe to look softer and have an aura around the edge like mine this is how I did it. On your layers palette, click on the globe layer to make it active. Rick click and duplicate. Go to adjust, blur, gaussian blur, 15, ok. Go to layers, merge all flatten and that is your mask layer. Save your mask as a .jpg, we will be coming back for it :) B- Making the background for the tag. Colorizing my mask background. Open up my PeaceLoveHope file, this will be our base to start with. You can simply colorize it to suit your tag, heres how. Find a color you like from your tag. if you click on your materials palette, say the bottom of the 2 colors... and eye dropper will show up, move your mouse over your chosen color (tube, paper etc). It will show you for example... We need to remember the R: & G: numbers (red and green). Go to adjust, hue & saturation, and change the R: to the number you remember and the G: to that number. for the most part this will work, however sometimes especially with reds and pinks it doesn't so play with it until your happy! C- Using your mask Open up your scrap paper of choice, copy and paste as a new layer. Go to layers, new mask layer, from image. Make sure that "invert mask data" is checked. Using the dropdown menu find your mask, ok. Layers, merge group. D-add your tubes, word art and accents... if you do not wish to animate it then your done :) If you wish to make your world go round, this is how I did mine. E-Animating Once you have everything on your tag that you want on, we are going to seperate the tag into 3 parts. 1-SO click on your white background to make it active, on your layers palette click on the eye to make the layer invisable. Do the same with your globe layer. Now go to layers merge all visable. This should give you one layer that has everything that goes on top of the globe .... 2- you can click on the eye balls again to make the other layers active again. 3- Copy your white background layer over into animation shop, duplicate it so that you have 7 frames. Go to Edit, Select All 4- Back in PSP copy your globe layer over to animation shop - paste as a new animation. go to Effects, Insert Image Effect, Rotate... The default settings should be Effect length 2.0 secs & Frames per second: 3, OK this will give you 7 frames in total. 5-go to Edit, select all, copy now go to your background set of frames, Edit, Paste Into Selection, it should practically paste your globe center on your background. 6-Back to PSP copy your top layer over to animation shop, paste as a new animation and duplicate it again so you have 7 frames, edit select all, copy click on your tag and paste into selection, again it should practically drop perfectly. Go to Animation, frame properties and change the 10 to 65. Save as gif and your done :) Thank you for trying my tutorial, I would love to see your version so please emailme them so I can post them in my gallery This is my Non Animated Version |
